There are also some quick ways in which you can do to keep those flies
from pestering your place, at least for a temporary period of time.
These are:
- Maintain constant air circulation by means of oscillating fans.
Ceiling fans also do the trick for those who live in hotter, more
tropical places.

- If you have a garden or a yard, invite natural predators that
pick on flies, such as frogs. Be sure to build a small pond with
moving water to accommodate the frogs. You can also take care of
birds that feed on gnats and flies. If you live in a cramped space,
you can take care of house plants such as the Venus flytrap to feed
on the flies that pass through its way.

- Keep plants which flies hate. These include eucalyptus,
lavender, basil, peppermint and flowering elder bush. Flies hate
their odor because of the spicy mint-like feeling which can be
nauseous for them.
- Use scented candles like citronella to deter flies.
